I’m obsessed with my Sony a7R IV¹ – it’s the perfect camera for wedding photography, with its 61.4MP full-frame sensor and incredible autofocus system. I mean, have you seen the way it can track a bride walking down the aisle? It’s like magic. And the dynamic range? Forget about it. I can shoot in any lighting conditions and still get amazing results.
My go-to lens for weddings is the 24-70mm f/2.8² – it’s versatile, sharp, and perfect for capturing those intimate moments. I’ve used it to shoot everything from candids to portraits, and it never disappoints. I’ve also got a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens³ for when I need a bit more reach, and a 16-35mm f/2.8 lens⁴ for those epic wide shots.
I don’t just stop at cameras and lenses, though. My kit also includes a range of accessories to help me get the job done. I’ve got a DJI Ronin-S gimbal⁵ for smooth video footage, a set of Godox flashes⁶ for when the light gets low, and a bunch of batteries and memory cards to keep me shooting all day long.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that you can’t have too many batteries. I mean, you’d think it’s obvious, but trust me, there’s nothing worse than running out of power in the middle of a wedding. That’s why I always carry a bunch of spares with me, just in case. And don’t even get me started on memory cards – I’ve got a whole collection of them, and I always make sure to have a few empty ones on hand, just in case I need to shoot some extra photos.
I’ve been shooting weddings for years, and I’ve learned that it’s not just about the gear – it’s about the experience, the emotion, the moment. That’s why I love my Sony kit so much – it lets me focus on what really matters, rather than worrying about the tech. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the tech is important, but at the end of the day, it’s the photos that count.

The a7R IV is an incredible camera, and when you pair it with the right lenses and accessories, it’s unstoppable. I’ve shot with other cameras before, but nothing compares to the Sony.
